I believe the definition of Happiness is different for each of us due to culture, faith, and economy. However; I don't believe either a country or individual can't have happiness bliss while under a brutal regime such as communism.

Compare Vietnam to Eastern Europe that shed Communist ways when the Berlin wall came down, the lives of people there. Are people there more happy than Vietnamese?

There's no way these people want to go back there. The had tasted communist happiness before their regimes collapsed. They know how it was like. I think they got enough.
