After the war, VN Communist Party owes a lot of war debts to the Chinese and Russian. One of the many pay back methods was to open up our seashores to their fishing fleets. These are large ocean vessels with 10 miles drift net that haul everything within its footprint from mid ‘70s until mid ‘90s. This depleted the coastal resources.
The spilled and the 'islands grabbing' are significant but they are recently; thus; they didn’t cause a fishery depletion that went back before their times. However, their effects and woes will be horrendous now and onto the near future.
Above is the prelude to the VNmese fishing misfortune. These are frugal and hard working people and they can’t even ‘break even’ with the daily catch for the cost of fuel and hardware supplies are so high.
The people don’t want the VNmese Communist Party apology or sympathy! We just need them to fix what is broken and enable the laws and markets so the people can do more and be free to exercise their rights.
