The title of this article sounds very strong. I want to ask Radio Free Asia: Could a cellphone user registered in a fake name in USA? So when has the "fake name" become "norm", and "real name" become NEWS in any society?

First of all in the USA you don't have to show your ID to get a cell phone. But the comments miss an important point. The Chinese police want Uighurs to register with their real names so if someone texts or calls about human rights violations to the outside world, the police can arrest them. It's designed to intimidate and control Uighurs. The Chinese police are not requiring Chinese in China to register with their real names so why must they require it for Uighurs in Xinjiang. It's yet another example of racial discrimination.
