Kudos to Mongolia in allowing His Holiness to visit their country. Mongolia is a sovereign independent state, not a vassal of China. There are strong religious, cultural, & ethnic ties between Tibet & Mongolia. In 1913, Tibet & Mongolia signed a treaty recognizing each others independence from the Qing Empire.

It is a great honor for Mongolian Buddhist abbots to welcome the Dalai Lama to their country to share thoughts of hope and wisdom with Mongolian Buddhists. Communist Party officials of China merely reveal their own depravity and double standard when using threats and intimidation in their attempts to interfere in Mongolia's internal affairs and thwart this visit of a distinguished guest.
