CCP heavy-handed suppression of UNESCO's Mother Language Day in part of Sichuan fits a pattern of flouting international norms and trampling on basic civil liberties and human rights of citizens.

It's not only religion and political expression that are banned in Tibet, but also Tibetan language that is not being banned in Tibetan areas. Tibetans cannot have a Tibetan language contest. In Amdo, Tibetan students cannot have classes taught in Tibetan. Tibet's very identity is being erased by the CCP.
