The Thai court's sending down a punitive jail sentence to a researcher and interviewer of migrant researchers is outrageous. He didn't himself post the research results on the internet yet was convicted of a "computer crime."

<<<“Instead of prosecuting Mr. Hall, it would have been more appropriate to conduct an independent and thorough investigation into the serious allegations raised in the Finnwatch report.”>>>

I totally agreed with Finnwatch. Authority didn't conduct an independent investigation because Thailand is just as corrupt as any country in ASEAN. No doubt, the company paid off the right people to cover up their human rights violations. Thailand is attracted a lot of migrant workers, so there are lots of human rights abuses like Thai Fishing boats. Fishing boats go out to sea for months at a time. Some unlucky migrant workers from Myanmar and Cambodia didn't come back. Their bodies were thrown overboard. We learned through the lucky ones who made it back to tell horror stories of abuse and murder.

I heard lots of horror stories, and saw one with my own eyes. A lot of Thais are nice people but there are brutal greedy thugs who care nothing of human lives.
