AdemC :

This article contains a lot of claims by local authorities that cannot be corroborated or balanced by visits to the region, since the military has closed the region.

I note that media calls reports "unsubstantiated" when Rohingya groups share unsettling videos and photos of villagers being slaughtered by the military esp in recent weeks. But these local authorities claims are no less unsubstantiated.

Where is Aung San Suu Kyi? Where is Kofi Annan?

The Irawaddy observes that,"self-identifying Muslim Rohingya, who form some 90 percent of the population in Maungdaw and Buthidaung townships, have also reportedly fled the fighting in rural areas but have been restricted from entering Maungdaw town." Is this no ethnic cleansing?
