Kaman National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the Kaman community said just over 200 Kaman ethnic peoples were living in the Kyaukni Maw Village, Yanbye Township, Rakhine State. The immigration officers have issued NRC (National Registration card) to 3306 people as ethnic Kaman. However, the authority only found 21 Bengali Muslims among 3306 people.
Kaman National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the Kaman community lodged a complaint with the President’s Office and State Counselor’s Office about Bengali Muslims pretend to be Kaman Muslim and the Immigration has issued NRC (National Registration Card) under ethnic Kaman name.
According to Kaman National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the Kaman community, 3106 people are not ethnic Kaman Muslim and in fact, they are illegal migrant Bengali Muslims from Bangladesh.
The Immigration Officers’ corruption was not new in Burma, but I was surprised about they are still taking bribe money from non-Burmese ethnic and issued them with NRC (National Registration card) under the false ethnic name.
The illegal Bengali Muslim Migrants’ problem was caused by corruption of immigration officers in Rakhine State. The Immigration officers and Police Officers have taken bribes and let them stay in Northern Rakhine State for decades. The Customs officer, Immigration officer and Police officers are most corrupted public servant in Burma. These peoples are selling off country to the foreigners.
