Reply to this commentHow can the government expect these people to live on $80 a month salary? These are the same government thugs who are the ones take bribe because they claimed they can't live on $500 a month salary. And yet, they won't let these workers have $160 a month salary.

Minimum wage in U.S $1,000.....Cambodia $80
Gasoline U.S $3.35 per gallon.....Cambodia $5.00 per gallon
Electricity in U.S 0.10 cents or 400Reils per Kilowatt....Cambodia 820 Reils per Kilowatt
10 Eggs in U.S $1.10......Cambodia $1.25 or 5,000Reils

Reply to this commentFactory workers, keep asking for what you can survive with. I heard you rent a room and live with 10 to 15 people for saving few dollars a month. The government officials live with corrupt millions of dollars and make you starve to death and that is not right. You work hard, the company makes profit, you want to be paid enough for living. I saw some of you in YouTube have malnutrition and faint out and collapsed and felt sad for you.

If the minimum wage is too high, Cambodia will lose jobs to other country. Mr. Hun Sen has been providing political stability for Cambodia, thus foreign factory owners come to Cambodia. Why don't the oversea Khmer pool the money together to open factories then hire the Cambodians at higher wages?
