It is interesting this crackdown came after Hun Sen visited Vietnam. What did his master tell him?

Reply to this commentIt will be interesting to see the reactions of U.S and European Union when the blood spilled in the street. Will they impose sanction, particularly on garment export?

Sam Rainsey is just using this $160 salary scheme - which including mandatory allowances and bonuses is closer to $300 - to get a new election by causing daily unrest in Phnom Penh. The workers simply don't know any better. If he succeeds with this salary increase, he will be cheered as a savior by the workers now. But in 2 years, when all of the factories open in or move to countries with more cost-effective labor (Vietnam, Bangladesh, Myanmar, even Thailand and the Philippines) and no one has a job any more, they will have to work in the fields again for much less money and harsher conditions. The economic decline will subsequently cause an increase in violent crimes which would kill Cambodia's burgeoning tourism industry. That would be all she wrote for Cambodia.
