Chucky :

If not for Vietnamese saving Cambodian from Pol Pot, there wouldn't be any Cambodian left now to protest Vietnam. Cambodian thinks that China is their friend but they quickly forgot that China supported Pol Pot in killing 1/4 of the Cambodian people before Vietnam came in to restore order. Thank you Vietnam Army.

Pol Pot :

The Cambodian or the Khmer people seem to lose their human sense for reality. Burning flag of a neighbor nation (regardless of what regime) is the next step to war. Europe was backward and caused 2 deadly wars before it became civilized. Asia is still backward. But the most backward nation in the world is Cambodia. And this backward-underdeveloped nation will drag Asia down. In the name of Freedom of XYZ can even the dumbest justify him/herself to his/her crime (like Pol Pot and co.).
NO! It has nothing to do with Freedom of Expression. It's the most visible act of belligerent stupidity. Furthermore, without the stupid Viet pigs Pol pot had probably terminated the Khmer race. Maybe he was right with the stupidity of his folk. Thanklessness can be forgivable, but stupidity? It's something that God himself powerless and helpless.

Friends respect each other, and friends don't encroach on friends territory if you want to be friend forever.

SixBlindMice from Long Beach :

One detail need to be corrected. Not all of the provinces of Kampuchea Krom were under the Vietnamese control. So get that fact right. The Khmer Krom people were still fighting the Vietnamese invaders all the way up to the 1860's, the time the French were setting foot in IndoChina. Even Vietnamese chronicles regard the territory of Kampuchea Krom as "autonomous (=self-governing) region". There are more provinces in Kampuchea Krom than in Cambodia.

Glade this issue came to the front, thanks to comment made by the Vietnamese embassy. Now more Khmer really want to know the "truth" about Khmer history, and they are digging up for that truth. Maybe someday all sides will accept the that "truth" and live in peace.

khmer kid from battambang :

It is also the responsibility of the Cambodian government to support and defend its people on historical grounds regarding Khmer Krom. Khmer is correct to judge and criticize the Hun Sen government for not coming to the aid of Cambodia and its people.

May 27, 1946, Admiral D’Argenlieu, a representative of the French Federal Government in Indochina, created an autonomous country for the Montagnard population of South Indochina called “Pays Montagnards Du Sud Indochinois (PMSI). This Ordinance gave the Montagnard people a Statute Particular granting self-administration and self-determination to the Montagnard people of the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

'“Vietnam demands that Cambodia strictly try these extremists in accordance with the law and take effective measures to prevent similar actions from repeating in the future,” Binh said.'

This means more demonstrations ahead if the Vietnamese does not offer an apology instead of attack on Cambodian freedom of expression.

"Last week, Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed the hope that the CNRP would refrain from whipping up anti-Vietnam sentiment for political gain."

It doesn't take a genius to figure this out whose side he's on. Everyone sees this. He better hope this would not come back to haunt him next election which I have no doubt that it will. Keep it up because you can't be prime minister forever.
