It seems both parties talk pass each other ears. Which side do you blame for unreasonable demand? Here is the chronological order:
CNRP sent in complains to NEC to investigate after election. NEC did a half-assed investigation into those complains, causing CNRP to call NEC bias.
The CPP demanded that CNRP accept the results announced by NEC, who said it had done all it could to rectify the problems (but NEC have not done anything to change results on what they found). CNRP refused to accept the finding, and demanded that the investigation head by UN because they don't trust NEC.
The CPP agreed to investigate on condition that the NEC should head the investigation, claiming sovereignty issue if headed by UN (this is a legitimate claimed by CPP). Again, CNRP refused, saying they don't trust NEC. (Okay, the issue here is "Trust" for CNRP and "Sovereignty" for CPP and NEC)

Now the Constitutional Council is involved instead of independent investigation committee. The CCC had ordered to have "safety packages" open. Now that the packages have been opened (there were irregularities found). What's next? The CNRP still demanding to have independent investigation committee, claiming what they found after opening packages the reason why they need to set up this committee. (This is the point where we are at)
So then, the issue on setting independent investigation committee is "Truth" and "Sovereignty".
This might be a simple to solve. NEC can head this investigation committee, but ground rules might be laid so there would be no confusion as to whose can or can't do what in transparency and clear manner.
What to do next after all the findings? What's next? Re-election or re-calculation? Who decides?

Reply to this commentThe government will be responsible for its action which lead people to demonstration. And the demonstrators who committed crime will also responsible for their actions.

Reply to this commentThey should form this independent investigation committee without UN. But they should lay CLEAR ground rules that NEC can not hide anything, everything must be opened and transparency.
Better do this FAST! Time is running out.

68 for CPP and 55 for CNRP. Those numbers are already set up by Hun Sen way before the result.
