Mark, don’t you think 28 years is a long enough wait for CHANGE? Is Cambodia heading toward democracy after 28 years? What is the best way to fight corruption? And why do you think the United States of America has term limit for their president? The answer is to prevent corruption. When one person is in power too long, corruption is unavoidable. If nothing is changed after 28 years, nothing will. I strongly believed Khmer people are more than ready for CHANGE. “Yes, We Can”!

Cambodians are you really ready for change? ask yourself do you want yourself to change? look at Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait and other middle east countries who wanted to change, until now they are in chaos. look at singapore very productive, people should be responsible for change, work together towards improvement of the country.

With all due respects, second place is not an options. We must make a stand today so tomorrow we do not have to live in fear. Khmer people cannot and will not allow ONE man continue to terrorize our people one day more day. Please, DO NOT tell us it's ok for him to terrorize us five more years. ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Reply to this commentWhile it is unlikely the opposition will prevail in contesting the election results, it should be encouraged by the impressive gains it has made. The opposition could use its new-found power to push for a more fair and transparent election process the next time around. The demographics are shifting toward younger, social media-savvy voters, which should favor the opposition, unless the CPP transforms itself into a party more sensitive to popular opinion.

It is understandable the Khmer people want change, but quick change is unlikely to be peaceful; look at Egypt.
If you want to change to a real democracy it will take time. Please understand it is not about first or second place. The opposition could only watch the government before, now they can participate in the government. The Khmer people need to watch how they participate in the government. Will they fight for the people or will they join in the corruption and make themselves rich. In 5 years time you will know a lot more about the opposition and what they stand for. If they have done a good job in opposition the next elections can be the free and fair elections the people wish for.
