''Killing Fields” after the ultra-Communist Khmer Rouge took power in 1975. The regime was unseated when Vietnam invaded the country four years later.'' this sentence is meaningless. Cambodian nightmare was stopped by the help of Vietnamese troop. Invasion means negative in this situation. Dont try to turn the reader to have a bad feeling about Vietnam.

That sentence also means Vietnam can take whatever it wants because Cambodia owe Vietnam. If Vietnam wants to take land here and there, Cambodians should shut up. Is that what you are saying? Because this is history and tradition.

The Vietnamese were in a readiness to attack Cambodian activists including MP, as they possessed in advance wooden sticks or violent incited tools. As happened in several case, they alway block Cambodians from monitoring the border demarcation and encroachment. If Cambodian government would stand with its people, Vietnam would stand to loss in any international legal action.

mary wang from Khmer :

What an absurd article by RFA with glaring stupidities:
. Titled " Vietnamese Villagers Beat Cambodian Activists..." when both sides showed inuries and the 200 Cambodians instigated.
. If you inspected the border from your side, how did the fight break out?
. Without Cambodian permit, how do these opposition people justify their continued instigation? They should be in jail!
RFA should stop publishing these bias article and give voice to these trouble-makers, instructed by their Chinese handlers.
. Vietnam should mobilize regular army to project Vietnamese and anticipate Chinese provocations like the 1979.

The local authority claimed it wasn't notified when people went to inspect the border. If they did notify them, like many times before, the authority would block them. It seems Hun Sen still protecting Vietnamese instead of his own people and country.

Your accusation is ludicrous. Was not Hun Sen and his people that fought the Khmer Rouge for over a decade? Was it not the CPP that won the Preah Vihear case against Thailand? Was it not the case that under the CPP government the Cambodian population recovered?

Okay, in a new here, the statement said the border inspection trip of the opposition CNRP led by its lawmaker Real Camerin had not been noticed to the provincial or local authorities for security and safety protection. The spokesman for the Svay Rieng Provincial Administration said the brawl, occurred on Sunday afternoon in Svay Rieng provincial border with Vietnam, left 10 Cambodians and 8 Vietnamese people injured.

So it's a brawl with both side sustain injuries, when I first read the title of the this rfa new. I thought Vietnamese villagers somehow bullied CNRP lawmakers.

Political parties bordering on harmony: http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/political-parties-bordering-harmony

The report at http://www.khmertimeskh.com/ referred merely to Cambodia's provincial level authority who accused the opposition activists to have made border insecure. However, at national level, government was in harmony with the opposition.
