Note also that, based on my experience, less than 20% of tree saplings planted in Laos actually survive and grow. This is mainly because they are planted in the wrong area at the wrong time of the year and are not taken care of, and hence they die because of sun/heat exposure, lack of water or are eaten by livestock and other animals...
