Reply to this commentSmart peoples would use their brain and guide themselves on the common sense before launching a cheap accusation against Laos in the case of Sombat disappearance. I don’t think that the Lao police officers are that damned to kidnap that scrap guy in front of the video footage that can be served as eyewitness against himself or herself. Secondly the Lao government would neither bother itself to kidnap that guy of that caliber to discredit Laos as land of opportunity for the investors.

Reply to this commentguess you are not as smart. That's what they want you to believe. I though they were joking when those gov't people talk about "man in Black" " and suggest that I should watch my mouth at all times (khun Ser Dam)" See the video I have to say "wow" That ain't Will Smith.

A friend's passport has been taken from there for a few months now without any official reason. They can't leave the country or work there which means they have no free will of supporting themselves but are expected to pay to get it back, unofficially. If they can do this to a person that has no significance to the government, imagine what they do to the people that are.

Reply to this commentAfter listening to all the comments for 3 weeks I came to believe that Mr. Somphone was truly TAKEN BY LPDR due to his work and believe. This not just happen to him but to too many good men and women who has a Different Political Agenda from the current Lao Gov. It is sad that the world still so blind and did nothing to stop this from happening the Lao People in Laos. I would like to encourage the United Nation to take a new step and work a lot harder to bring this LPDR to justice as soon as possible so this type of humiliation won't happen again. Thank you. Tim.

Reply to this commentobviously, the enforcers or their governments are somewhat do the same thing somehow so. Laos knows that so it's quite hard to tell Laos to clean up while everyone else is tinted. Wish the greatest for all Lao people...

Reply to this commentNo doubt that was the work of Vietcong agents. In Cambodia, there are many rights activists, and anyone who posts a threat to Honio dirty work have been killed every year. Both Lao and Cambodia are in the same Vietcong Boad! Together we must free ourselves from the communist Hanio now. If not, we will become minorities in our own country in another twenty year or so. Hanio is slowly taking control both Cambodia and Lao. It's the fact!

Reply to this commentThere has been many cases like this in Laos that a person will disappear and being killed by government officials everyday. The government will kidnap a person of interest and kill them without allowing the person to go through the court system of proving their guilt. The whole world know Mr. Yong is lying through his teeth that the government was not involve in the disappearence of Mr. sombath. I urge the UN to sanction this evil communist government to the fullest allow by the law. Many more disappearence like this gone unreported to the world every single day. I need stand and put a stop to this evil act by the government of Laos.Lao people you need stand up for right against the government.
