Jean from New Yorkl :

This is the most embarrassing situation I ever heard in Laos history. I am so ashamed I can barely express myself... there is not enought funds? Really? BUT they have fund to purchase a 6 millions dollars hourse or a 300 000$ garden right? Interesting. Every ASEAN country must be laughing at them ( The LAO PDR ). Seriously, This Lao Government must be pushed out. "now". But most lao people are sleeping, or afraid. I can't see how can 7 millions lao people be afraid of few couple Lao Government administrator. I really don't.

Mark Hefner from Chiang Mai :

The group must be considered extremely disruptive to be in the situation. Even Myanmar hosted the group last year. Maybe not hosting them is the right thing to do. They have been part of the Asean agenda for 10 years and perhaps they'be worn out their welcome.

Please note that the quotes were not from the Regional Steering Committee of the ACSC/AFP, but from a statement signed by many regional organisations.
