Reply to this commentCan anyone imagine how the people in the U.S. will react, if the U.S. government borrowing $9 trillions dollar to build a Super Rail linking across the world. With all the recent talk of sequestration and cutting in government spending, it wouldn't surprise me, if any U.S. politician or any pin head politician in the world for that matter, who dare to test such wet dream end up getting burn into ash on the spot.
So, why is there any reaction from the Lao people to the recent wet dream of Lao government second mortgage their children future by borrowing $5 billion for a rail linking across southern Laos between Thailand and Vietnam? And at the end of the day, these same people who approved this loan will likely pocket most of it for themselves. Do Lao people know as citizens of Laos they will be responsible to repay these enormous debts with their children future?
Facts: USA GDP $14.9 Trillion vs. Laos GDP $8.3 Billion (as of 2011)

This is the missing link that Lao PDR need as part of transport system. It sure will enhance import and export infrastructure as well as mass transportation facility in a safe and green environment. A very good and effective railway system will help to reduce the traffic on the road for the future of Lao PDR. Lao PDR will advance at some point and this is the right time and off course feasibility study has to be done before any project started.
