I think China should stay in their own country and leave other people alone, especially in these cases where the Laos people livelihoods depend on their land. I actually thought the Govt had told the Laos people that their land was theirs and no one could take it away! well how wrong am I! They should not be coerced into giving their land away at all and bad Karma to the police that are making them as well!

The Chinese are half of the problem. The other half are corrupted Lao officials whom gain huge commission and under the table payments.
Most if not all of these villagers probably don't fully understand the fine print as most of them probably are illiterate.
The corrupted Lao officials probably coerced these villagers into making a deal or possibly misled them into signing a deal for bribery from the Chinese investors.
It's so sad to see these villagers being treated this way.
