Reply to this commentIt's easy of those lazy Laos people who have a secured lives in the West. How about people with no jobs in your country. Whatever form of investment, it brings jobs and income to your poor people. Get a life

Reply to this commentLazy?! You probably don't know how many WHITE Westerners depend on government help do you. You probably don't understand why it's critical for which countries to invest in Laos, because if you actually know the truth and not just reading one article and judge, you'll know what's going on in LAOS. Chinese companies bring they're own workers in Laos. Same with most Vietnamese companies. That's just half the problem, not including evicting locals out of their homes and building companies on the same soil their ancestors farm on. So tell me who really benefit from that. SO please TAN from Calgary, do get a real life...research before you open your Calgary mouth. I live a comfortable life in AMERICA (thank goodness it's not Calgary) thanks to my job as a head Chef. Guess I'm not lazy or am I?

LET ME ASK YOU, VIETNAMESE INVESTERS, THE WAY YOU FEEL YOU ARE THREATNED IS SUBJECTIVE. NOBODY IS TRHEATENING YOU AS THEY HAVE AN INTEREST TO INVEST LIKE YOU TOO. INVESTMENT IS GOOD FOR LAOS, HOWEVER, I FEEL CONCERNED IF THOSE INVESTMENTS HAVE BENEFIT OR EXPLOITING LAO CITIZEN

Reply to this commentAgree with Singha. If those investments are real where are they at ? Poor lao people still need those jobs and money.
It's all fabrication...

Laos is better than Cambodia which depend solely on China. China, Thai, and Vietnam are trying to gain control of Laos. All three country don't want to lose to each other. China hate Vietnam. Thai hate Vietnam. Vietnam hate China and Thai. This things will never change.. Laos is benefiting from the three trying to outdo one another. Just like anything else there is a cost that Laos pay for the 3 powerful countries fighting each other for control of Laos.
