The don sahong hydroelectric dam by its nature is " an intra-basin in water use"that will be built on a channel but non on the mainstream of the Mekong which would require consultation.Mr. Peter Hawkins an environment manager of Berhad Corporation has once said that he is certain it will have almost no environment footprint;it is definitely a sustainable projet,it diverting only a small portion of the Mekong flow.
