The ABC reports:

It's a volatile time in geo-politics and Australia is not immune - with tensions growing with our powerful Asian neighbour China.Australian political leaders are openly conceding the relationship is strained.Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull concedes there is "some tension" amid fallout from the government's foreign interference laws and Beijing's growing influence in the Pacific. And China is currently hosting a major forum attended by political and business leaders - but there are NO Australian politicians appear to have been invited. For more on this, ABC's Ali Crew speaks to the acting director of the Australian Centre on China in the World at the Australian National University, Jane Golley.
