Han chauvinism & Chinese nationalism has been on the rise for a long time. The Chinese Govt & many ordinary people often look down & discriminate against Tibetans, Uighurs, Muslims, Falun Gong, Christians & other minority groups. Anti-foreign sentiment has always been high in China. Anyone who dares to criticize the CCP is labeled an enemy of the state. China today looks a lot like pre-WW2 Imperial Japan & I worry that could lead to another world war.
