Like many other demagogues who have risen to the highest political office in nominally democratic countries such as Hungary and Turkey, Trump is too busy with denouncing the media as "the enemy of the people" to pay any attention to human rights. Nor does his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson even bother to pay lip service to human rights concerns. These old tycoons and other supporters of populist demagogues just don't care about human rights.

Demagogue Trump supports state torture and opposes press freedom and other basic human freedoms. No wonder he seems to have gotten on well with autocrat Xi Jinping.
