The "conspirators" Xi lashes out against are mostly those factions within the Party elite who are looking for ways to elbow aside Xi's ruling Princeling faction and rise to the top themselves instead.

Wangchuk from NY :

Chairman Xi is waging a purge of his political opponents within the CCP. All high-level CCP officials are corrupt & have accepted bribes or embezzled funds. The CCP leaders are among the richest in China. But this deep purge will undermine & destabilize the Party. We may see factions grow in opposition to Xi and more internal Party turmoil.

Xi Xinping was referring (they were) to Jailed former high-ranking leaders Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Guo Boxiong, Xu Caihou, and Ling Jihua.

Ambitious? Really? Who is the ambitious one, who was bestowed title to himself "core leader" and "Commander-in-chief?" If this is not ambitious I don't know what is.
