Why would the Communists change their ideology? Their main goal on this earth, just like the Muslims, is to destroy civil liberties, suppress dissent and annihilate creative expressions using all kinds of schemes at any cost. Hong Kong lawyers tried to arouse international attention for support. To what extent China yields to this kind of societal pressure? Judicial indpendence is very precious and delicate. Once eroded, that is the end of One Country Two Systems.
