To Sihanouk fans, don't be blinded. Sihanouk was credited for liberated Cambodia from the French. And he was also part of the peace process in the early 1990s in Paris.

But remember, Sihanouk was not perfect. He helped brought Khmer Rouge to power. And thats the problem, most people don't want to see him as a man like everyone else. If you just pointed out his good side then he was not a man. Imperfect man did good as he also did bad things, and that was Sihanouk.

Sihanouk would have conceivably been called before the tribunal to answer for his fulsome support for the Khmer Rouge. However, the Chinese Communist Party regime leaders would not have allowed him to be extradited, so no one bothered. The comments made by the Chinese editor and scholar are well-founded; Sihanouk's luxurious lifestyle was funded by the CCP controlled government while most ordinary Chinese citizens lived in poverty or near poverty conditions.

They said 'take care of your own lawn before critisizing other'. Try to put yourself in his shoes before you even pass on your illogical yet untruthful judgement about him.

For some people to claim such illogical statements about the king is somehow irritating. Considering the effort and the sacrifices that he had made for Cambodia and China, how could one be so disrespectful. He as a former king, and a remarkable person, should be treated with respect. I personally pray that he rests in peace.
