Reply to this commentWen is a good actor (who cann produce tears on demand). But the fact is he has never pushed for human rights within China or in the CCP. Wen is the soft face the CCP puts forth while in China, Tibet & Xinjiang, the CCP shows the fist & truncheon.

Wen Jiabao and the rest of his family profit greatly from the one-party authoritarian status quo in which the Communist Party and its leaders are effectively above the law, which they can ignore at will. Wen has not advocated any concrete political reform measure that would weaken the CCP's total control over the government and legal system. Wen's abstract statements in favor of political reform cater to gullible people with false hopes that the CCP is able or willing to relinquish its authoritarian mindset and gradually democratize itself.
