What's to celebrate about an oppressive, vindictive, and erratic autocrat like Mao Zedong, who launched innumerable tragedies such as the Anti-rightist Campaign, the Great Leap Forward Famine, and the chaos and violence of the Cultural Revolution?

<<<Rivers, who plays pro-China American journalist Edgar Snow, recently told the pro-democracy Chinese-language Apple Daily that public is overreacting, however.>>>

Like many cult leaders, Rivers has that cult mentality. Like Jim Jones and Mao, they both wanted control over people. These were not normal people.

<<<The ruling Chinese Communist Party has given out mixed messages as the country marks the 50th anniversary of the Cultural Revolution this year.>>>

This I don't understand, celebrating a mass murderer as if killing tens of millions of people was a good thing.
