Officials in China need to be held accountable under all circumstances, not just when they are targeted by the Chinese Communist Party for reasons that are often political. As long as the CCP retains its monopolistic control of the government, judiciary, and police system, no thorough reforms in the direction of accountability are likely to have much lasting effect.
