Kudos to Cambridge University Press for having reconsidered and reversed its initial capitulation to the draconian PRC censorship decree.

This is the decision that should have been made unhesitatingly at the outset.

It would be interesting to know who at CUP made the astonishing decision to self-censor. Even though sanity has ultimately prevailed, such a serious error of judgement has permanently damaged CUP's reputation as an academic publisher.
