Reply to this commentIt's time for Beijing to act like a civilized government!
Since everyone is about to lose big here.
It's time that Beijing wakes up and handles the new era better for long gone are those days of concentration camps (Oh geez! They recently did that in the western region) and disposing people during the dreadful midnight calls.
These tired, old, and un-animated old men need to change for the world had left them behind. Wake up from your slumber, take a walk down to your universities and schools to learn what young people want.
You will not and can not live forever regardless how much gingsen you drank!
You got to 'put the money where your mouth is', if the future belongs to the youngs - then help them!

Carrie Lam wasn't elected by the Hong Kong people, she was appointed by Beijing. Lam has proven to be a loyal puppet of the CCP. Banning masks using a 1922 colonial-era law won't stop protests & won't satisfy Hongkongers. The Basic Law requires democracy for Hong Kong & Beijing has yet to fulfill that obligation. Democratic nations & peoples around the world should show support & solidarity for Hong Kong democracy protestors.
