It's notable that "subversion" trials like this one involving defendants who will have already indicated their intention to plead guilty are conducted in public (pour encourager les autres), whereas the trials of the persistently defiant (Wu Gan springs to mind) are typically held away from the world's gaze.

The only thing transparent and unequivocal about China's judicial system is its unjustness.
