Inner Mongolia was once part of Mongolia. In 1911, Mongolia got its independence from the Manchu Qing Empire. But in the 1920s the Soviets engineered a coup & made Mongolia a puppet communist state of the USSR while Republic of China took control of Inner Mongolia. In 1949, Inner Mongolia was 80% Mongolian. Today it's only 20% ethnic Mongolian & 80% Chinese. The CCP treats Mongolians as 2nd class citizens & shows utter disdain for traditional Mongolian nomadic culture.
