Wangchuk from NY :

The CCP spends enormous sums on foreign propaganda. All of China's Party-controlled media, like Xinhua, Global Times, China Daily, etc., are essentially propaganda machines first and news media second. CCTV is available is broadcast around the world in many languages and is also used to spread CCP propaganda. Of course China doesn't allow many foreign media to transmit to China including RFA and VOA, so there is a double-standard by the Chinese. The CCP wants everyone to hear Party propaganda but not any sources that disagree w/ the Party line.

"Firm stance"

Better idea. Change the media laws so that neither one person nor one company are control all sources of media outlet.

The Murdoch Media is causing enough trouble. We don't need the CCP to add to it.

To those who are influenced by money. I say money is not everything. If money is everything then you don't deserve freedom.

Peter from Canada :

Chinese people who either escaped or migrated the main land and living abroad because of political, economical or any other reasons are self conflicted and hypocrisy themselves. When they were in china , they complained , protested ....but once they resettled overseas they tend to back up the communist government at home. Well because they believe if they don't do that it is difficult for them to go back to china as they still have many tights remaining there. Chinese communist government , in the other side, deploy and exercise of using their people to manipulate and control over those. The result is that chinese communists are everywhere...we can not trust those...

CerebrusMaximus :

As China buys more USA companies, especially media companies, US Citizens can expect to see more pro-Chinese movies and documentaries, and less, if any, movies that are in any way critical of China. The CCP has already pressured a Washington State city mayor to remove a mural of the turmoil in Tibet, created by a private US citizen; to her credit she refused to cooperate with the CCP. More of the same is coming. Unless the USA and the rest of the world make a firm stand against China's aggression, the human race will enter a new "Dark Ages" with a CCP authoritarian government in control.
