It is normal for American middle class or upper middle to accumulate a net worth of over $5 millions over a period of almost 30 years with due diligence and entrepreneurship. This wealth represent two generations and several households over period of 30 years of agriculture business and real estate investments. Actually, is quiet low. It is important to expose corruption in Cambodia, but it another things to do witch hunt and scrutinized a family for two generation over a period of 30 years over self entrepreneurship and handwork over some small inconsistency. You are doing a disservice to Cambodian people by portrait a minor inconsistency of $125,000 over a period of 30 years and two generation with several households to real corruption in Cambodia. In effect you legitimized real corruption in Cambodia by portrait this small wealth relative speaking, as an example of corruption in Cambodia today. If the story you wrote in this article is an example of corruption in Cambodia, people would think wow, Cambodia has minor corruption similar to the United States. You are doing a disservice to Cambodian everywhere, by using this story to cover the real corruption in Cambodia.

Previous comment is missing the fact how Cambodia politics work. You are awarded companies and businesses not for hard work but for who you know. How does an employee making less than 1K a month amass a net worth over 5 million in 30 years. The average college educated American has a net worth just over $1 Million. Corruption and nepotism is the way of life in Cambodia; just ask the opposition party how they are faring. Let's not obfuscate the facts and look at the problem as a whole. This is not a "witch hunt" on any one family but the entire Cambodian government apparatus. RFA is right to expose these people because the money they "invest" is ill gotten; provide definitive proof where they "earned" their money. Cambodia is ranked 162 out of 180 for corruption; this is nothing close to the United States who is ranked at 23. It would be a disservice not to investigate and scrutinize the financials of these people. Facts are your friend.
