Violence Mars Cambodian Protests Over Elections

Tens of thousands of Cambodians turned out for opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party-led demonstrations in the capital Phnom Penh on Sunday to challenge election results that handed Prime Minister Hun Sen’s party a victory. On the sidelines of the protest in Freedom Park, one protester was shot dead and several others were left injured in a clash with police near Kbal Thanal bridge. In another incident near the Royal Palace, police used teargas and water cannons to disperse protesters who removed barbed-wire barricades.

Ok. I love those men in uniform. Forget about protecting our north(Vietcong) and south(Thai-thief)border. The Vietcong and the thief are to stronge. Would be better to go against own kind.

If democracy is coming so difficulty for Cambodia after more than 30+ yrs post civil war, how will other countries like Burma ever see the fruits of democracy?
