I worked & stayed in the Casa de Beneficencia Refugee Camp in Macau in 1979/80 I would very much like to trace any of the refugees who were living in the camp at this time... I have some photos & a few names. Is there any record that I could try & trace them.

My name is Elizabeth Roberts. I am English. I arrived at the Casa de Beneficencia in Macau November 1980 and was warmly welcomed by the Father presently working and caring for the refugees. I shared a room with two girls who I believe made it to Australia I have photos (Am away from home presently but have still photos and newspaper articles.. also letters etc) I listened to refugee stories about their escapes, treacherous boat journeys.. I took on the role of trying to find their lost family members relatives passing refugees details to Save the Children.
I left when the camp was demolished and remaining refugees transferred to a camp on an Island just off Macau in 1981.
