Activists Incarcerated Away from Rangoon

On Nov. 11, Min Ko Naing and eight other "88 Generation Students Group" leaders were sentenced to 65-year terms of imprisonment.

They were transferred on Nov. 14 from Maubin prison near the former capital, Rangoon, to Insein prison in Rangoon. They were then transferred again to other places far from Rangoon. Fourteen other members of the Group had previously received identical sentences.
