Land Clash in the Capital

On April 21, Cambodian police clashed with 100 people who gathered in front of city hall to protest their imminent eviction from Phnom Penh’s Boeung Kak Lake district. Several protesters were injured in the melee, including one woman in her 70s. The protesters have refused to make way for a developer who plans to construct luxury apartments in the area.
