Taiwan obviously has chosen to be an independent nation.I applaud China for achieving independence back in 1946. However Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau have a right to make their choices and have earned sovereignty independent of China. Mr Xi,perpetual leader of China, unelected, should avoid tank diplomacy.

Taiwan has a right to independence.
China is an immature player in world politics evidenced by assertive militarism and codling of billion dollar individuals.
Bit sad.
When capitalism and militarism meet issues arise.
Zaibatsu is worth a word check.
The South China Sea is a locus and the exemplar of world trade with free navigation.
Threats to navigation are serious.
My hunch is that Mr Xi has no option but to be leader for life and as such avoid the gallows of democracy, or worse.
Ships can export and import to and from China without transgressing the South China Sea, as claimed.
Mr Xi may need to watch his intelligent backgrounders.
