in 1975 red chinese supported to pol pot to kill all vietnamese communist troops that stayed in cambodian. this case it was the same to camboadian land during 1975. Uyghurs same as cambodian. no matter as long as communist regime still there the innocent poeple will get burned as in north vietnam, loas, cambodia, north korea.

i understand that the situation in urumqi is very grave. i have been there many times and it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. i have seen the world. but i would like to tell everyone reading my article to refrain from any violence as it only hurts the sentiment of innocent civilians like me.....i have my wife there and i cannot contact her because of the communication blackout in xinjiang....if government authorities are reading this then i would humbly request them to start the phone lines as i would be able to tell my wife and all my loved ones that "i love you". China is a very beautiful place dont do this to us. you also have families....inseparation from your family would sting your heart forever. Kindly take this as a humble request from a guy who loves his wife and hates violence in any form.....

Reply to this commentI wish there were more Chinese intellectuals like Wong, and speak out about Communist party's unjust policy towards ethnic Uyghurs. instead of solving the problem, Chinese government sewing the seeds of future conflict between Han and Uyghurs by propagating one-sided views and news, arbitrarily prosecuting people without due process.

Uyghurs already are the second class cistizen in own land, Uyghurs have no basic human rights, and Han-Chinese Government should feel shame about it.
Uyghurs are one of the most civilized ethnic groups on this planet. We Han-Chinese have learned or modified many things from Uyghurs in the past thousands of years. Uyghur's music, dancing, clothing, food, medicine, horses, fruits, and business skills have benefited a lot to Han-Chinese ......
I have symphathy towards voiceless Uyghurs. Communist Chinese government have been using all sorts devil methods, techniques, and politics systematically distroying helpless Uyghurs, Uyghurs' homeland, and Uyghurs' culture.
The Communist Chinese authorities have been distorting Uyghurs history, mass persecuting Uyghurs, and same time portrating Uyghurs as terrorist on all media.
Shame on you Communist Chinese!
