Greenhouse-gas emissions trends look grim in the world's top two polluting nations, China and the US, in spite of the hopeful Paris accord. Trump's bogus claim of an "open mind" about curbing carbon emissions is exposed by his "climate change hoax" rhetoric and his appointment of the anti-science fossil fuels cheerleader and climate change denier Ebell as the head of his energy policy transition team. China's burning of coal is still on the rise and not expected to level off, much less decline, for many more years into the future. All these irresponsible actions are taking place as sober climate statisticians have recorded dozens of record-breaking months in terms of heat worldwide over the past two decades in particular, along with higher concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than the earth has seen over the many tens of thousands of years that scientists have records for (through ice core samples, for example).
