Victor :

This is one of the best articles by Bao Tong RFA has ever published. His intellectual acuity and succint kind of eloquence are remarkable. Long may his voice continue to be heard in the world!

And well done to Luisetta Mudie for a great translation!

Why China (and Russia) are locked in the past?

Command economies are not good for business.

I comment on the article by the report re Mr Bao Tong dated 2018-03-26.

A reference relevant to my comment is footnoted.

Briefly international cooperation can have a positive effect, censorship is not conducive to "business" particularly in economics.

Nobel prize winners of that interest, Economics, are worth examination by any totalitarian thug.

Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Xi, Mao, Putin, Pol Pot are not must reads for Economics 101.

Totalitarians are bad for business.

Like 18th century autocrats they seem to assert infantile self preoccupation.

The insecurity of these folk is actually dangerous.

Freud may have some insight into human insecurity, armed with nuclear weapons.

In the meantime I will contain my emotional empathy re the article concerning the arrest of Hong Kong citizens reported by Lam Kwok-lap for RFA's Cantonese Service, and by Yang Fan for the Mandarin Service. Translated and edited by Luisetta Mudie.

The economic miracle of Germany post war was difficult, democratic and "good for business".

Bashing the person who has an opinion is antediluvian.

Karl Marx who had ideas in the tradition of Charles Dickens, the novelist, would be unwelcome in the hagiography of folk who put the poor and weak as il numero uno.

If knowing international law, to hurt, gas, starve, humiliate, gaol and bomb fellow humans places the perpetrator in the same category of another unethical thug just like other failed leaders mentioned above.

I live in Australia.

Kindly concur with international law, ethics and common sense.

Russia/Putin protect Mr Assad with their citizen's lives?

Apparently Dr Assad was a competent eye surgeon.

Totalitarian dictators tend to write their own end.

The vision of Dr Assad only he can see.

Anonymous Reader :

The communist party are corrupt - they who worship power at all costs and employ mind control by torture. This will not last and then what will they do ? Fear is their everyday life. Not a desirable philosophy, they are blind, and have not considered that God really exists (prayers working can prove this). The older people speak out, because they have learned not to care, the spell is broken for them.
