Yanhuang Chunqiu indeed broke no laws, but the articles it published did not take what the Party considers a sufficiently deferential approach to the Party line. In 2015 the British news weekly The Economist’s Democracy Index identified 50 nations that are not democratic, and this year (2016) two more countries have been added to the list, taking the total to 52. This is a reflection of the pressure exerted by China, the world’s largest authoritarian state. Taiwan's destiny is to play a key role in liberating the people suffering under the more than 50 authoritarian regimes worldwide by promoting their efforts toward democracy. It about toeing Communist Party line. The Communist Party is paranoid even students return from overseas schools have to redirect their views of the Communist Party.
What is Communist Party line, and why is it so important to the Communist Party? More importantly, who benefits from this? The country and people?
