Zhou Yongkang could not have arranged for the arrest and kangaroo court trial of Liu Xiaobo if the rest of the Politburo Standing Committee hadn't already come to basic agreement with this act of suppression. Liu Xiaobo's Charter put the interest of the Chinese populace and the Chinese nation over the interests of the Communist Party, and for that reason was viciously trampled upon by the single-party dictatorship.
